Virgin Atlantic appoints chief people officer

The airline now has a leadership team in place to ‘drive’ it forward after a difficult year

Virgin Atlantic has appointed Estelle Hollingsworth to its senior leadership team, with the role of chief people officer (CPO).

In her position, Hollingsworth will be responsible for creating inclusive experiences that energise teams and improve both employee and consumer relationships with the brand.

Hollingsworth has worked most recently as vice president for cabin at the airline, but brings a total of 25 years experience to the new role, including a position as vice president, people experience at Virgin and numerous roles across a number of other sectors.

Speaking on her appointment, she said: “The unique spirit, and innovation of our people at Virgin Atlantic is what differentiates us.

“I feel so privileged to be moving into the role of chief people officer, where my focus will be to recognise what we have been through together as a company this year and to create a unique people experience, to be the best at what we do and ultimately delight each and every one of our customers.”

Shai Weiss, CEO at Virgin Atlantic, acknowledged how the “expertise” that the new appointment brings to the specific role can “drive” the firm forward after a difficult year.
